St. Patrick’s Day Smoothie
There are a lot of green-colored foods and beverages that are served on St. Patrick’s Day, but most of them are full of dye and added sugar. Our green smoothie is loaded with healthful ingredients. Spinach contains antioxidants, vitamin K for bone health and protects against prostate and breast cancers. It also gives the smoothie its green hue. Pineapple is high in vitamin C and is helpful with immune system support. If you’re looking for an energy boost, the banana is high in vitamin B6. Add fiber-filled oatmeal to stay full and yogurt for the digestive benefits, and you should be feeling pretty good.
Here’s a good-for-you celebratory smoothie for St. Patrick’s Day.
- 3 tablespoons oatmeal
- 1 banana
- 3/4 cup frozen pineapple chunks
- 1/2 cup coconut milk, or your choice of type
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- 2 handfuls fresh spinach
Add the oatmeal into the blender or food processor by itself and pulse until it is a powder. Add in the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth. Pour into a large glass and enjoy with straw while still cold.
