Life interrupted: how to cope with back pain

Peter Jacobsen: Life InterruptedInterruptions — like them or not, they’re a part of life. And, for the most part, we can’t control them. For better or worse, we are occasionally thrown an interruption that can change our life. I know because that’s what happened to me when I started to experience back pain.

At first, my back pain was just an annoyance. But over time, it became so bad that I felt like I was watching life pass me by. And when my back pain did become severe, it was the little things we sometimes take for granted that I began to miss. I missed walking to the mailbox, playing guitar, climbing the stairs and picking up my grandchildren.

Chronic neck or back pain is an interruption that can rob you of those precious moments in your life. Here are some simple ways to help keep you doing the little things in life:

Stretch. Regular stretching is important to helping keep your muscles loose and limber. And making sure your muscles are loose will go a long way in reducing your chronic pain.

Fuel up. Eating well and maintaining a healthy diet is probably the best thing you can do for your chronic neck or back pain. Making healthy food choices will help you maintain an ideal weight, which can reduce the strain on your spine.

Move. Even though it may be difficult to stay active, doing so will help keep your neck or back pain under control. Try walking for just a few minutes every day.

Life is short. So make every moment count. And remember to cherish the little things in life. Laser Spine Institute helped me find relief from my chronic back pain so I could get back to living my life, Call them today to see if they can help you too.
