How Yoga Helps Natalie Gulbis Prevent Back Pain

I’ve been golfing since I was 4 years old and went professional well before my 20th birthday. “Active” doesn’t begin to describe my lifestyle. So it goes without saying that a healthy, pain-free back is essential to my success.

When I started experiencing back pain a few years ago, I was in the midst of a thriving career and enjoying my many other hobbies, such as yoga and running. Being in my twenties and enjoying a thriving golf career, the last thing I needed was something that could slow down my momentum.  I was determined to find a way to move past the pain. Work your way up to full extension and, over time, it will strengthen the muscles you use for standing and lifting. Add the child’s pose to your list as well; this stretch helps elongate your spine and relieves pressure or pinching.
